Football League First Division 1892-93

Sunderland retained the League title, but further drama came as the Football League was expanded, and split into two divisions. Notts County were relegated, after finishing 14th in the First Division and losing a test match to Darwen. Accrington (pictured), who came 15th, lost to Sheffield United and preferred to resign from the League than to play in the Second Division.
